BE PART OF THE GLOBAL PORTRAIT
OUR FIRST OFFICIAL PROJECTS AS A NONPROFIT: 17 NEW NATIONAL FLAGS IN THE CARIBBEAN + ASIAN + THE GULF
Impressions of Humanity’s next chapter begins in 2026 with the Dominican Republic, our first project as a nonprofit. From there, the journey continues across Asia, before the Gulf countries add their voices in 2027.
These projects will expand the global portrait while also fostering friendships, building partnerships, and deepening cultural exchange. Along the way, we’ll share not just the creation of flag panels but also moments of connection, visits to beautiful places, learning from diverse communities, and giving back through a shared artistic legacy.
Each new flag will open a window into its country’s spirit, giving audiences around the world a chance to witness the portrait of Humanity take shape in real time.

WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS
In a time when technology and social media can leave us feeling isolated, this work offers a simple way to stand together in real life. A hand on canvas. A name recorded. A moment that says, “I am here with you.”
Each flag comes to life through neighbors, volunteers, translators, coordinators, hosts, and filmmakers who contribute time, talent, and resources. Local support makes the process possible; sponsors and donors make it global. Their contributions connect each flag to the larger body of work, sustain the creation of the documentary and archive, and carry the finished artwork into exhibitions, classrooms, and cultural venues worldwide.
This is why your support matters together; every hand and every story lives on.
WHAT IT TAKES TO CREATE THE ARTWORK
Every dollar has a purpose. Documentation and archiving are the largest investments, ensuring every hand impression, name, and story is filmed, photographed, and preserved as part of the artwork itself. Materials and supplies keep each flag museum-grade, while local helpers, coordinators, transport, and insurance make the process possible across 16 nations.
Creating the Artwork Requires Care
Each flag involves more than hand impressions on canvas. It requires archival materials, professional documentation, safe transport, and proper storage for future exhibition. Every country brings its own needs, permits, security, and cultural considerations, and we follow the seasons and traditions to ensure each panel is created with respect.
How In-Kind Support Helps
Donated supplies, logistics, and local hosting make a tremendous difference. From art materials and transport to permitting assistance and filming, in-kind contributions stretch resources further. Combined with our commitment to frugality in the office and in the field, these gifts ensure more funding goes directly to creating the artwork.
Recognizing Shared Effort
This project belongs to everyone who makes it possible. Donors, sponsors, partners, and volunteers are acknowledged through our website, social media, exhibitions, the permanent archive, and the global documentary, always to honor the people and organizations who help bring this vision to life.
